I was trying to follow the tutorial on the site but it's designed for 8.0 and higher. I have PSP 7.0 and need to learn how to create a transparent image so I can put my designs on dark shirts.

Download GIMP and use that.

I found a tutorial for it at the following link.

But I agree with Diane, go with the GIMP.

I have PSP 7.0 and use the PNG Optimizer. (Choose File > Export > PNG Optimizer.)

I use PSP7 and it's fairly easy.
Are you wanting to create a new transparent image or make an existing image transparent?

To create a new transparent image:
*Open new image (click on white piece of paper icon)
*choose background color as transparent
*Make your design/saying
When done:
*Crop image
*Go to file>Export>PNG Optimizer
*On colors tab tick 16.7 million colors
*On transparency tab tick Alpha channel transparency and existing image or layer transparency
*Name and save file

Hope this helps- this is how I do it and have no problems.

Brenda, thank you SO much for posting how to create a transparent image on PSP7. Actually, I have PSP8, but have worked for a week trying to figure out how to save it with a transparent background. I followed the Cafe Press tutorial and even bought a PSP8 For Dummies book, but nothing I tried worked. But you----you saved the day! Thank you SO VERY MUCH!!

And it is a COREL product. Lets make sure the Corel section lives by putting things there so it gets some size again and doesnt look dead.
