I'm working on a series of rectangle magnets and tiles. Does anyone have experience of "weird" or bad results with putting text outside the safety border on the templates?
I want to put a URL along one of the edges, but I want it to be as close as possible to the edge. I'm also wondering about putting a "frame" around the design.
Do these items generally print as centered as the previews, or do I really risk that the URL will be cut off if I put it outside the safety border, but inside the bleed edge?
And should I stay away from "frames" around the artwork, because it will print offset on the actual magnet?
Basically, can I trust the previews, or is there a fairly large margin of "error" or "offset" that I will have to accept?
The point of the safety zone is that the image is not placed with 100% accuracy. You can't count on the url being on the edge it may print either further into the product than planned, or may tilt slightly due to imperfect alignment, or it may disappear. or it may be partly there and partly not. This will be something that happens at the time the product is created and so will not be consistent.
