It's best to focus on the actual number of pixels in your image. Use the DPI (or PPI) only to calculate the minimum # of pixels required.
For example, if CP recommends 200DPI (4600x7000) but says the minimum they will use is 150, then the image needs to be (23x150=3450) x (35x150=5250) in order to be printed full-size. Any smaller # of pixels will be a smaller image in the middle of the product. It does not matter what DPI setting your software uses- only the actual # of pixels in the image. Also- if you had a printer that read the 400dpi setting on a file that is 2300x3500 it would print it as 2300/400 or 5.75" by 3500/400 or 8.75". If it was printed at 100ppi it would be 23X35.
