hi i just started a shop and have a lot of ideas. but i have almost no experience with graphics software except photoshop. any recommendations on the best program to use??

Everything is going to depend on what you want to do and how much you are willing to pay for a program. If you want text-only shirts, PS will work fine. The same goes if you are using stock images.

When it comes to drawing, it will vary. Some people use corel draw, others adobe illustrator, Xara, or something else. The most important thing is to learn whatever program you get. Most allow you to export as a PNG and you can always do final touches in PS.

I've been using Paint Shop Pro since I first began digital painting and it hasn't failed me yet and it's a lot more cost efficient than Photoshop but I do agree with Deo that no matter what program you choose, play with it, work with it and get to know it very well and you'll find if it is the right program for you.
