I use Paint Shop Pro X (not Photoshop) to work with my images. I usually start out with a jpg file with the number of pixels required for the product I'm using it on. Once I have the image the way I want it, I save it to a .png file. Sometimes the png file is huge so I need to use the PNG Optimizer export function of PSP to make the file smaller, but I'm not sure what settings I should use in the PNG Optimizer. Can anyone help me?
My shopid is http://www.cafepress.com/JesusHugsGifts If some kind soul out there has some free time and could glance at my products I have so far to see if my products look like they'll print ok, I would greatly appreciate it. I honestly don't know how I can tell for sure if my products will look ok when printed. I will order a few but I can't afford to buy every single product I offer. As far as I can tell, they look ok when I see them in my shop but are there any obvious things I should look for that would give me a clue that it's not going to print right? I'd sure hate someone to order something and find it looks bad when printed. As always, thanks for any help you can give me! |

If you don't mind my asking... why are the files too large for you to use?
Are you on dialup or some other restriction that makes a larger PNG file a problem to upload? Otherwise, a full-blown file with no compression or other treatment may yield the best results. It can also cut down on the chances that some unique algorithm could introduce problems into the file itself. Having said all that - it's a little hard to tell on your products. If you designed your image to specification (eg. 2000 pixels by 2000 pixels) and saved it as a transparent PNG you should be fine. However, your current lineup is hard to discern trouble spots because you only have a few products and the small thumbnails aren't likely to show the more obvious problems that may crop up in printing. It's not specifically you - it's tricky for any of us to thoroughly check our thumbnails for hints of trouble. Obvious blurring, placement problems, transparent backgrounds, etc. will show up but thumbs are limited in deeper troubleshooting. ........................blipfish........................ Are you creating the strongest designs you can? |
