If you're after easy, I'd recommend dumping the gimp. Smiler

Try paint.net

Also try gimp-tutorials.com or gimp-tutorials.net.

Actually, what's better is to search (e.g. google) a specific topic in gimp and you'll likely find tons of approaches to the task.

Good luck...

If you are new to creating computer graphics, learning any of the FREE programs is a real challenge. Depending on your state of finances - I'd say just go buy a progam that has a support network of books! I still use them.

I am a huge supporter of the CorelDRAW Suite. You can find an older v9 (the 'oldest' I'd suggest) for as little as $25 on eBay, and the now one-version-old X3 for around $80.

This will give you the best of both worlds. A GREAT vector drawing program for 'graphics' and a photo program for photos, (raster/bitmap), along with over 1000 fonts, a font management program, and LOTS more stuff.

There are 1000's of FREE tutorials out there for Corel products and you can spend as much as you like on books for reference and learning if you want to.

CorelDRAW is far far easier to learn than Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and will do all that 99% of people ever need.

I used v9 for several years until getting X3 a few months ago. And for what I do I don't see much difference in the actual function for me.

Good luck!
