Hi everyone. I am having issues with my graphics 10 x 10 printing a little below the chest of the value shirts, ringer and tank tops. My thinking is that I am not using the entire space of the 10 x 10 template. I tried 10 x 8 and other sizes but none work. I've seen other designs that other SKs manage to print properly.

My question is what template size can I create so that my designs will print either on or just a little above the chest area of the value shirts and tanks tops? Since we don't have a tool to make these adjustments manually, it's causing shop returns. Some of my customers complain that the designs printed much too low. They even asked me if that's the new fad! Big Grin

Thanks for your help.

Well your first step will be to pay attention to size in terms of pixels. This is critical. The different garments have different minimum resolution requirements. Let's say you create an image that is 1000 x 1000 pixels. If you put on a garment that allows 100 dpi it will default to the largest allowed size so 1000/100=10 inches. Now if you try to put that same image on a garment that requires 200 dpi it will only print at 5 inches 1000/200=5. I don't know whether this is your problem, but it is something you need to eliminate as a possible problem. There are several garments that allow a 12 inch square print area. If you use the standard 2000 x 2000 pixel image then you will be using less than the allowed image area if that garment requires 200 dpi. I design with a minimum of 3000 pixels in at least one direction. Using a square canvas of 3000 x 3000 pixels will allow full use of the image area for all garments regardless of minimum dpi as the largest area is 12 inches and the highest required dpi is 200 (12x200=2400 so a 3000 pixel image will definitely fit).

Once that has been eliminated as the problem the next step is to address quality control. Take photos, or have your customers take photos, that shows the difference between how the garment actually printed and how they expected it to print. Then make sure to send them to CafePress Customer support. You might want to also let the Voice Members know. http://www.cafepress.com/cp/co...?page=cafepressvoice

Posting in the forums is one way to communicate these issues, but to be truly effective choose as many ways of communication as you can find. And when you do post here, mention that you have taken those steps so no one tells you to do what you have already done.

I have ordered several of the value tees and they printed fine for me. I know in the preview the design looks pretty low but once the shirt is on, the design looks good. And definately not noticeable enough to ask if it's the new fad. Confused I've sold several of them with no returns or complaints about the placement.

Brenda & Journey Creative,
Can you post a link to the designs that are affected?

I'm thinking that you have the artwork in the center of the available space and it will look lower than it should. If the design was in the upper part and the lower part left blank it would look higher.

That is what I did for I'm A Guy / Multitask.
