I've come up with a slogan that's aimed at the female market exclusively and I just wanted to ask for some recommendations for fonts suitable for this sort of thing.

Depends on what you're looking for I suppose. As a female I like all sorts of fonts Smiler

If you want to go with a cutesy thing maybe try a handwriting font. Are you limited to free fonts only or are you willing to pay a little?

EDIT: From this forum's FAQ thread, here's a short list of some font resources:

Not to sound snooty, but part of being a graphic designer is being able to select an appropriate font to achieve a particular effect. Look at all of your fonts and then try to categorize them by "feel": Which feel formal; which feel casual; which feel humorous; which feel solemn, which feel "western"; which feel "art deco," etc. etc. Don't go by the names given to the typefaces by the provider/foundry -- just decide by looking at them. Think of a phrase that you think would look good in that font and then type it out. What do you think now? Does it fit? If no, what's wrong with it?

"Ha! This font reminds me of a hot dog. 'Specially if it's in 3D shading in just the right shade of greyish pink. Think I'll use it to promote the family bbq this weekend."

Print yourself a list of the fonts which you have categorized this way, listing them by category and name so you can easily find appropriate fonts when you have a project in mind.

I wholly agree with KCL above. I have over 11,000 fonts available to me on my computer, I can spend waaay tooo muuch time selecting a font - so getting an idea of what YOU want the effect of a font to be - ahead of time - is critical to doing work in a productive fashion and producing images that look 'good' or 'appropriate' to YOU.

Font names can be Copyright protected - but actual fonts can be remarkable alike - and many free ones are exactly alike. Weeding out those that are exactly alike is a first step.

While many people do not consider the way a font was constructed (just how it appears on screen) - it can affect how it prints if used as a 'font' (text) versus using it as an image. This is often caused by the way the font was stolen/captured/poorly made - and even some from name foundries have far far too many editing nodes which can create other problems for the artist attempting to use them.
