I have just set up the following in 7 days!
And Powerpoint has been a brilliant tool to help create mt section headers and product designs so far. Easy to design, size and save images in PNG... It's never going to be a heavy design tool but okay for me... I have found the whole setting up and listing of items a little bit addictive... I wish you all the very best with your sales... however long they take to come I am a Welsh Newbie to all of this and so it takes me a long time to get up to speed. Anyway, I have just "loaded" a premium specialist shop with print items for training companies, departments or trainers. I think I have managed to take onboard some of the tips in the Forums but I would appeciate any feedback from anyone who reads this. So in 7 days I have created; www.cafepress.co.uk/workafrolic www.cafepress.co.uk/greypride www.cafepress.co.uk/ladygreypride And all in PPT Jason |

Welcome, and great start.
I'm glad Powerpoint has worked for your needs thus far. I can't recommend it, however. I've been here since 2003 and have had many people have problems when they used tools such as PowerPoint that were never intended for the task they are asked to do. You will likely run up against these limitations as you learn and gain experience. PowerPoint specifically has been a source of frustration for many. Better choices can be found in the folders at the top of the graphics forum. When you need a hammer, use a hammer, not a screwdriver. Hopefully PowerPoint has a color picker so that you can use an eye dropper tool or some such to select colors that are in the printable (CMYK) range. It is quite likely that the pink you have chosen will come out much more grey than you have selected because it is an RGB color that is outside the CMYK range. The back part of this image is how it shows in RGB, on screen, the front is how that same color is rendered in CMYK. http://tutortanith.com/images/colors/pinks2.png I created a color picker chart of CMYK colors for people using graphics tools that are designed for the web or display screen (e.g. PowerPoint) rather than for printing. That will allow people who can use a color picker tool to keep their images in the color space that is both RGB and CMYK. http://tutortanith.com/#imagecolor I recommend spell checking your pages, in particular your Workafrolic page. I've only noted you.We and deivering as not accounted for by UK vs US spelling differences. There may be more, I didn't check. |

Thanks...
Some great advice. That colour chart is now safely stored in a handy place so tanks for that. I'll let you know how I get on with the shop. Regards, J |
