Hello all. I am a newbie and trying to set up my very first shop.

I am a bit confused when it comes to selecting the products. When doing so, there's an area on the "Add Products Selection" screen to select a number from 0 - 9. What is this for and what number should I select?

The "Help" section in this area is not very helpful.

Thank you.

That's a quantity; you can choose to add up to 9 of each product. (NOTE: I'm assuming you're talking about basics of setting up a premium shop, not that you have a basic shop--I can't help you with those!)

As an addendum to Grace's reply, if you need more than nine of a particular item, do this until you have the number you need. Add 9 items twice to get 18 of them, etc.

Forgive me, but I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. So, I have to choose how many of each item I want to be available to sell? Is that right?

I haven't used the 'add products' thingie in a long time (I use my own templates with prices and everything already set), but I THINK all the quantities are set to 0 when you first access that page. So you only need to choose a quantity for items you're adding.

If you have a basic shop, it doesn't matter as you are only allowed one of each item. You can open more than one basic. If you have a premium shop, you can have more than one of each item. You might use this feature if you have a design that needs color tweaking to look nice on different colored shirts. Another example for a premium shop might be a section full of one item, like mugs, with monograms or something on them.

For the most part, I think most shopkeepers have one or each item that works with the design in each section of a premium shop.

Yes, sort of. It is the number of items you want to display in that section of your shop. You might want to have the same shirt with three different designs, or the same design but show it in three different colors. If you organize your sections by design (one design per section) then most often you will probably want to put only one of each product in each section.

edited: MP already said this, but my brain wasn't working.

I am glad you 'got it'! I am struggling big time working out what a 'section' is and what images I cn apply to what products and how they will be displayed - is there a SIMPLE handbook that tells you how to do all this - there doesn't seem to be any explanations of anything!
