Well I used to be an active CPer... then it just kinda dwindled off, and I left my shops up. They paid for themselves, and I always figured I'd pick it back up later when I could.

Now's "later", a few years later in fact, so I'm back and trying to adjust to all the changes. It seems like a lot has stayed the same, except of course merchandise added/removed.

I noticed that when I look at my stuff in the marketplace, I for the life of me cannot find my way to my own store. Is this something that I'm supposed to be fixing up on my own? Or did CP make it so that you can't get to our store from our item? 0.o

I've read mention of a change in... I don't even know, it's confusing. I've seen the terms "volume bonus" and "10%", combined with people talking about the marketplace. What's this about?

Anyways. If you can think of anything else importantly new/different, please do let me know. I'll be browsing around the forums and getting a feel for how things currently are for a few days before I go doing anything.

Nice to see you back.

There's been some very big changes - probably what you're referring to about the 10% topic.

Essentially, CP has made changes to commissions (and selling price) to products we sell via the marketplace. It can be, in some cases, a lot less than you may have been used to. If you tend to sell a lot through your store directly then you may not even notice a change in profits. It's been a major switch-up from how CP had previously handled marketplace sales.

I recommend just perusing the Announcements forum at the top of the Community listings - just go back through time if you want and see what last sounds familiar or with the dates you kept up with things.

There's definitely some new merchandise, new portals, new brands we're able to promote (such as popular movies) and all that info will be in Announcements too.

As for getting to your store - do you mean to view it externally (like a shopper would) or as an admin to create products?

I suggest just going into your CP account and there's a store administration link - it'll take you to all your stores and you can retrieve links from there.

I'm pretty sure that is reqarding the shop link that used to be in the marketplace but that has been removed. There is no way now to go direct from the marketplace to our shops.

Yeah, Tanith is right. (I remember you from when I was active in 2006, lol.) I was checking the marketplace, and wanted to see a store that an item came from. For the life of me I just... could not get to that person's store, and I knew I used to be able to. So I checked with my stuff and sure enough, same thing. I didn't know if it were a setting or something that I needed to update, or just the way things were.

Hm, thanks for the link. I guess this explains why my unattended stores went from bringing me a check every month, to making next to nothing. I relied pretty heavily on the marketplace, just because I wasn't active enough to update it let alone advertise it. And even when I was actively advertising, I still did get a fair chunk of change from marketplace sales.

I'm not too thrilled about either change. I guess I may just can my stores and explore other options, rather than investing all my time into starting back up. =/ I'll have to see.
