Hello, I'm based in the UK. I've had a shop for a couple of years.

I mainly use the cafe press shop as means of promotion ie people around the world are wearing the gear with my website address etc, as opposed to a money generating vehicle...let's face it, with the new MP guidelines that's never gonna happen big time.

What I want to know is, how do other shopkeepers outside the US process their commission payment? A cheque in US$ is pretty useless in the UK.

Wjy can't cafepress offer a facility for payment by Paypal/Nochex etc...

Up to now I've not bothered with the cafepress cheque. I generally hold a competition with any commission so that more people out there can be walking around with my logo...like I said, promotion...

It is crazy when you get charge £10 just to change a cheque in a bank.

Then again I won't be doing that much anymore. Just recently sold 10 items. Normally I would make £30 but with the new system I have made £3.
Does not seem worth it anymore.

It's not worth it AT ALL. It seems Cafe Press completely forgot HOW & WHY they became successfull, on the backs of shopkeepers, they have betrayed those that put them where they are.

Thanks buddy.

I can believe Paypal being a bit of a pain in the arse but the fact is they charge less than going into a bank and changing the currency over from $ to £.

To me a cheque in US$ is about as useful as a sunroof on a submarine which is why I've never looked upon this cafepress thing as an income generator...

Certainly now with the new comission structure less so

Do you have a friend in the US who could receive the check and deposit it in an account for you in a bank with branches both in America and England?
Doesn't Bank of England have branches in the US?

They call us "geeks". They call us "nerds".
We call ourselves "pop culture aficionados!"

Hi there, no unfortunately I don't know anyone in the USA well enough.

There are UK banks with branches in the UK but the systems are incompatible...go figure, the global marketplace hasn't globalised yet...
