In the last 3 days my traffic has dropped to almost nothing. Not that I get a whole lot of traffic but it's been fairly steady.

I haven't changed anything significant recently.

Over last say 4 weeks other than add a few new sections with new designs, update some headers, descriptions, fix the odd typo... same thing I always do try to keep it fresh and but not radically change it every week.

Does anyone know if anything changed in the formula for lately?

Honestly, I just think it's the summer doldrums. My sales are down, my hits are down, people aren't spending money, natural disasters are taking a toll financially and mentally, the days are 20 hours long and everyone's outside, etc etc etc. I hope I'm right, because I tend to be a gloom and doom kind of person who always thinks today marks the beginning of never getting another sale! Smiler

Fingers crossed for an uptick in sales soon...

Google Analytics shows normal traffic for my shops but sales have been a bit slower than usual.

Gas being $4+ per gallon has, I'm sure, had an impact on spending. This morning I read a newspaper article about how restaurants are having a hard time with increasing food prices - they say the price of corn has doubled due to farmers receiving subsidies to grow corn for ethanol production instead of for food and cattle feed. And of course the increased price of gas impacts the price of everything that has to be shipped from long distances.

However, clothing is an essential item; so our apparel sales are not likely to suffer as much as sales of nonessential items like posters and buttons. Although people may ask themselves "Do I really need that artsy fartsy tee shirt for $25 or should I get two plain tee shirts at Target for $25?"

That is true too.

I did figure out how to compare an extended history in statcounter and this seems to happen now and then.

I guess I'm just watching it close because I'm trying to scrape up money for something.

Thank you guys. I was gonna cry 'cause google didn't like me anymore. Now I feel better. (I was painting yesterday maybe there were more fumes than I thought.)

Our sales were dropping a tad bit, not too much. We also consider gas prices and such things, but they have dropped more dramatically since the marketplace changes of last week.
