Will changing my shop id (name) in any way affect the existing links to shop products?

Yes all of your product links will change to your new shop ID. This will affect any possible affiliate links to your site as well as any links you have posted on the web.

Sorry to be so dumb.

But the actual numbers bit will stay the same.

I think what I was really asking without realising it was, 'Do I have to rebuild my CP shop?' from scratch.

To which the answer is 'no'. Sorry not to be clear in the question I was asking. :-)
