The design idea is a good one, but I'm not sure "09" is going to sell much. Most people associate political figures in the US with the election year, which would be "12" for the presidential race. If someone wore that, I would think they were politically clueless. But hey, clueless has sold, so perhaps a "09", "10", "11" and "12" design?

He was, so I guess it could be seen that way by some, but to me that works best if there's an inauguration date. I think most people associate the year by itself to be the year of the election, which is the '04, '08, '12 years. But that's just my opinion. I'm wrong on a daily basis.

I see your point, maybe the inauguration date in description.

I have to echo what has already been said. In American election politics, it's the election year that is associated with the President in question. Or, alternatively, the "Number of the President," Obama being #44. In my opinion, this works best with sports-themed designs.

lol...OKOK
I actually sold screen printed sweatshirts with OBAMA 08 with 44 on back already. Then I read that he was actually sworn in 2009 and changed it.
