Hello, I am very, very new to CafePress. Could I please get some feedback about the design of my shop, the navigation, product designs and pricing. That's all. Smiler

I know the shop design needs work and I'm about to hire a designer for that.

I want to get some feedback before I start to market the shop to my client base, Facebook Friends & Fans and Twitter Followers. My fans have been screaming for calendars.

Thanks so much!!

Leighton

BTW: I have yet to make one sale and I have all my products tagged very well.

The colors are definately calming, hehe. Looks Very Clean. I am a fan of eye popping sites, but I think the look you have works for your target, it is very simple, but prestiges.

One thing that I would seriously suggest is Center the info, immediately when I viewed it I felt weird having to shift my eyes to the Left Justification.

I can tell that you really gave thought about your product line, because you didnt just go in there and slapp it on everything available. (Which I am maybe a little guilty of, lol)

My favorite Print you have is this one

really inspiring.

Good Job!!

Didnt you ask how to center things in another post?

Your tags are probably fine, it does take some time before they get into the marketplace.

You could also include your website on business cards and give them out at Nautical events, wear your own product, and post on target customer blogs, chat rooms, stuff like that.

About making the sell, man I have been a memeber since April. I ave sold two items. This is the key..... get comfortable with the idea of spending 6 or 7 bucks a month, and use CP for a hobby, and then if you make the occasional sale Great, but if you dont, no big deal. What else are you doing anyways, you take this wonderful pictures and try to sell them in your local area I am sure, or it may be your job for advertising or something.

I use CP to keep me fresh in HTML, and web concepts, and to release some creativity you know. Everyone wants to make money I have just learned, to expect it as a Unusual Side Effect with my site, lol. I like creating funny T-shirts that I can show my friends and I laugh about. Smiler There you have it from the "Buddah on the Mountain" to your ears. Other people might have a different take.

Thanks for all your feedback Zombie. I monitor my work in MP and it usually takes 2-24 hours to show up. I just need to get some sales so my products will be on the first page for my keywords all the time.

This is 50% of what I do for a living so I need to make money at it. When I first started using SmugMug to sell my photos it took months and months to get sales. Now it's a major part of my income. I just kept tweaking it and tweaking my SumgMug site. Now I'm a featured photographer and some what of a SmugMug expert. I think I'm the only one, besides wedding photographers, making money on the site. This is my SM site: http://www.leightonphoto.com

So once I learn the ins and outs of CP...I'll make some sales. The other half of my biz is internet marketing and web design. SO I have a little bit of an advantage. This is my ad agency site: http://www.blueswirls.com

I do some stuff locally but I stopped marketing to the local market a while back. I use to market to the locals very heavily with all types of media and shows and didn't get much in the way of sales of general nautical art. It got me a ton of agency work though. Social media gets me much better results. I run ads on Facebook to increase my fan base and work Twitter pretty well along with Palxo, Flickr and LinkedIn.

Glad you like that image. It's on of my favorites too.

Thanks again!
Leighton
