A question about image tags: about how many tag searches a day should I be aiming for when tagging each image? I'm referring to that stat that tells you how many times a particular set of tags was searched today and yesterday. Should I try to choose keywords that get searched at least 1000 times daily? 5000 or more? I've been wondering about this a lot lately. Thanks in advance for any advice about this...

The number of times one tag is searched as compared to another tag is useful in helping you assess relevancy, but only if you use it that way. The number of tag searches per day is not the most important thing in tagging. The most important thing in tagging is (1) accurate tagging (2) avoiding over tagging. If you tag and no one clicks because it is not relevant to their search then your item drops in ranking, and pretty rapidly too. If you use marginal tags your item will have lower relevancy to a search and won't come up as high as it might. Deliberately choosing tags with high number of searches can backfire because what it means is that you are entering highly competitive tags. That is fine if the image is relevant and appropriate to those tags, but if not you will sink like a stone.

There is so many great tips here and I try to use them, and will continue to try to perfect them, but as of yet still no sales.
I hope with the new Supercross/Motocross season opening this Saturday it will help as far as the search engines when people are looking for Race Winners and Stats.

Lauds ZapGraphix for a great post. I started with a basic shop and realized I needed more and upgraded to a premium shop within two weeks. I got my first sale with two weeks and the business has been growing ever since. I more or less discovered tags and descriptions on my own and that helped. But the biggest help was your post! Because of it, i have been updating and revising all the items already in the shop as well as with all the new items.

Is it possible, ZapGraphix for you to add another similar post for affiliate listing? Thanks

Wow, this will help alot, I already went back through all my products and tried to update their names to try and optimize their searchability, and I'll probably keep refering back to this thread to try and help my shop get more traffic.

((And it's also nice to know that higher prices doesn't automatically equal less sales. I'm a little jumpy at raising prices since so far all I'm selling is small buttons, so this will hopefully give me the courage to up my prices a bit))
