We are not allowed to attempt to identify customers from the sales information. If the customer sends you a specific request to get newsletters, accept contacts etc then that is allowed as long as it does the contact level does not adversely affect CPs reputation regarding spam and appropriate contact.
Customers vary in how they feel about follow up. If I do not "opt in", if the seller attempts to make me "opt out" I forever drop a seller from my list of acceptable merchants for follow up contacts. Not everyone has that high a level of intolerance, but many do so it is a balance of who you gain vs who you lose. You will find that there are trends in that tolerance depending upon who the customer base is - age, sex, education, technical proficiency etc. |
