I have lots of compliments on my stuff but am having a hard time getting actual sales. I REALLY cannot afford a premium shop or serious money to advertise. But I do have a separate website and a myspace page. I just read about an application to let you really promote cafepress stuff on myspace. Does anyone know how this works, of how many you can link too? I have several basic shops.
Also is twitter helpful? I've been twittering and have noticed an increase in site hits, but no sales-though I do hope they'll come back for christmas.
I've only really started hitting the advertising harder since june (Got DSL. Dial up was hopeless.)

It depends on what the app is, you will have to give more detail.

Without looking at your stuff it is hard to say what kind of promotion will help. Art type stuff often suffers from lots of looks and few buys on apparel because most people seek out CP to make a statement of some kind. So one thing would be to consider whether the audience, products and promotion are well matched.
