Has anyone added their shop to their Ning Social Network site. If so... how easy was it and does it take long to set up and maintain.

I am a Welsh Newbie to all of this and so it takes me a long time to get up to speed. Anyway, I have just "loaded" a premium specialist shop with print items for training companies, departments or trainers. I think I have managed to take onboard some of the tips in the Forums but I would appeciate any feedback from anyone who reads this.

So in 7 days I have created;
www.cafepress.co.uk/workafrolic
www.cafepress.co.uk/greypride
www.cafepress.co.uk/ladygreypride

Ning has control of the databases etc so it probably will not be something you can do with NING. Your NING site is just a subdomain and you don't have access to add things such as an entire shop. What you can do is create a link to your shop from your NING site. Your best bet would be to create your own domain name and host it yourself, then get a script such as CPshop avail at marty.net.

Hello...
Thanks for the reply... I have done it...
Anyone with a Ning account can add "sell it" through the new Ning Applications and Sell It links your Cafe Press shop...
I did it in a few minutes... One drawback is that you can only add one section of your shop but you can click on a link to open the whole shop. The good thing is that it looks neat... images load fast and Sell It can be placed in most blogs so you can put your shop anywhere really.

I think that link will show you what I mean or just link to my site at...

www.ask-ican.ning.com

I've featured my new shop on the home page and it can be viewed through the Ican Shop Tab

Thanks again...
J

Just be aware that Sell It is an affiliate link where they get the affiliate credit. So if you are an affiliate as well as a shopkeeper and you're promoting your shop and other links with your affiliate info, someone clicking something from your Sell It widget will overwrite your affiliate cookie.

If you're not an affiliate, no worries.

I think that most things that are offered via NING are coded with their affiliate PID. (much like squidoo) I know someone that has a NING site and the google ads pay out to NING unless she gives them an xtra fee to insert her own.
