I have read several threads dealing with transparency issues, but none of the solutions seem to fit my problem. I have created several images that I believe should be transparent. I use the magic wand tool to grab my image and paste into a new transparent image. 10 X 10 200dpi Background color=transparent Image type 16.7 million colors (24bit)I have tried pasting it as a new image and as a new layer. I save the image as a psp file. When I upload it It appears transparent on colored t's like blue, green, and pink, but when I add it to a black shirt I get a white box. I really do not see what I'm doing wrong here though I'll admit I am a complete n00b. Sorry in advanced if I missed the solution in another thread, and thanks for any help.
I knnow this may sound annoying but I have to ask ... did you read this? Remove Background Matte and Halo Effect Are you actually deleting the background? You need to save your file as a transparent PNG, which is flattened and has no layers.
I haven't used PSP myself much in years, but those were the things that came to my mind first.
I use PSPv7 so hopefully I can help you out. You shouldn't have to use the wand to get rid of the background. How are you actually saving it? Going to file>save as....will NOT save it transparent. Open your transparent page, do your art work, then go to file>export>PNG Optimizer. That will save it with a transparent background.
I was also getting the white square before I figured out what I was doing wrong. Just don't use the template as the background. For instance a 12x12 template. Just make sure your image will fit in that size of area (Corel gives you the change tabletop option so you can make the tabletop the size you need) but don't use a square template to do it in. When you post the image with no background square you will end up with no white square. Live Bold
Well after some more grey hair and whopper of a headache, I found the answer. I know there isn't many psp 6 users, but it isn't true that you can't get the transparency job done in it. There are like 10 steps you have to do to get it done but.....lol.
