Hi I am a new shopkeeper; I have used a custom template but as I have not mastered HTML , it is not yet anywhere near how I wish to display it. An external website is still in the making, so as yet I have no way to direct customers to my Cafepress shop. What other ways would be helpful in the interim? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks,

Thanks,
Hi . I am 2 months older than you . I also wanted to have a good looking shop to sell stuffs but was advised by the old timers here that it is not important .Keep adding designs , I was told .
So I just use the template , change the header banner and background and that's it .
In this business , it is faster to shoot and see what happen . I think it will take too long to built another site , unless u are very good ,or u pay others to do it .
Thanks for you encouragement. I need to also change the buttons and color background to the area where my my shop logo is but all takes time. Your designs are very cute. My shop name is: 9reddoors
1.00 Learn to put in the signature in your post . It get people to visit u every time u post . 2.00 I think you do need to have something that is more unique to sell in the shop because u are competing against a lots of other flower shops

Click "Go" then "personal zone" at the top left of the forum page. Then "view/edit complete profile" and there should be a box for you to enter a signature. Whatever you put in there will be added onto every post you make- saves having to type in a link to your shop every time you post!
I use myspace and have each photo of the design be a hyperlink to the shop, then just tried to add friends based on what it is I am selling Good luck!!!!
There is a whole section in Community Chatter on shopkeeper feedback. I learned the most by reading through lots of those posts, as well as some of the other sections. When you are ready, you can post your shop there as well and ask for feedback. It was very very helpful for me.
Another tip for you: organize your shop by designs, not by products. There are many advantages for doing so, one of which is using the bulk edit tools to add titles/descriptions to a whole section of products at once.
What the old timers say about adding designs is true, but almost all of them (that' I've seen) also have their own domain websites, and they've all said that they get a good amount of traffic from them. So I would recommend not crossing that idea of the list.

Thanks, that's something I have been thinking about. I guess I can say which products they are available for. I may not think some designs suit all products, so want to specify this.
