I'm trying to do something "unique in the world" and "never done before":

Find enough money to start a NewSpace company selling many T-shirts!

this is the website NewSpaceAgency

and this is my CafePress shop space ideas where I sell the first two T-shirts

If I will succeed, it will be the FIRST "T-shirts funded" Space Company!!!

The project may have a good help/boost from a world's Press Release, but I don't know WHERE to send it and HOW make it to have good chances to be published on news magazines and websites.

Do you (CafePress' users and/or staff) have suggestions for me?

I think it might be a very good publicity for me and my new.space agency but also for CafePress and all CafePress' users that will try to start "something" else "t-shirts' funded". Smiler

As far as I know, you can't use the word Google on a t shirt.

I don't agree, since I don't use the Google's logo but I just TALK of Google, but, I admit that I've had some doubts about this choice

however, it's t-shirt that shows my protest against Google (if you have read my article on ghostNASA.com you know WHY) so, may be a good idea don't give to Google the opportunity to stop my business, then, I'll change it

I accept your good suggestion

Believe it or not but reporters are always hungry for content like many bloggers, and sooner or later will end up running your "stuff" why? Because, the day don't have no content will need anything to put on the paper and they will glad to have you in their back up content folder :-)

As someone who works at a major daily newspaper (on the advertising side, not news), let me throw my two cents in.

Reporters are indeed hungry for content, but they usually have no trouble finding it on their own, so a general press release being sent out about your efforts probably will not pique their interest.

However, reporters/editors *will* put your story in the paper if it's newsworthy. Someone just trying to promote their online shop isn't newsworthy. So you have to come up with an "angle" or "hook." And reporters like *local* stories (because readers like local stories).

They might want to feature a local person taking on an Internet giant (and NASA), so focus your efforts on the local news media and ignore anyone outside of your market. Craft a one page press release (there is a proper format for press releases, so make sure to follow it - you can do a search for "press release format" and I'm sure you'll find it) and submit it to your local media.

As long as it doesn't seem too promotional or marketing-oriented, your press release might have a chance at getting noticed. Remember that news outlets are inundated on a daily basis with press releases. And the news department is not in the business to promote companies, that's what the advertising department is for.

With luck, you might get a call from a reporter who wants more information and a feature story might come out of it. Or you might be an item in a round up of community news or business digest, etc. Or nothing will happen. If so, wait a few weeks and resubmit, with a slightly different message.

Good luck!

thanks for your suggestions, Bob

I've found some sites about the "press release format" (a further example that shows how interesting, useful and surprising the web is!) but I've changed the strategy to start my "NewSpaceAgency"

the "T-Shirts funded" new.space company seems not a good idea or (simply) doesn't work, then, while I still propose my T-Shirts (and other future ideas) on CafePress (and advertise my products on all ghostNASA.com posts) now I'm trying to raise funds to start my idea selling ad spaces of the NewSpaceAgency.com home page on some auctions' websites

maybe... could CafePress (that is a start-up born thanks to venture capitals) be one of the first companies that buy a TEN YEARS ad space on my new.space website? Smiler

if they'll do that, CafePress could be part of another (possible) success story (like CafePress surely is by itself)

Wow.

I only looked at this thread because I assumed "space agency" had something to do with OUTER space. Like planets, moons etc? I do some space art so this looked interesting.

So I clicked on your link. And oh my god!
Gee I hope you can take some criticism, that can be a good thing, IF you can take it.

WHAT a mess. I'm sorry, but gees.
First thing I learned in typography class was "just because you can doesn't mean you should."

Type in bold and plain, bits highlighted in yellow boxes, some in blue some in read.
Oh my!
People only do this to attract attention.
Well.. if the content isn't that great, MaKIng IT loOK HorRibLE WILL NOT HELP!

Images on the left side don't seem to have anything in common.

I have no idea what "space agency" means,
I didn't read much, I saw "myspace" in there and figured this has to be another community, or blog esk type thing and just left.

Sorry to sound so negative. Honest though, needs work.
Start out by saying right away exactly what this site is, what is it about, and what is in it for me. (That last part comes right from my business 101 class. Find out what your customer wants, and provide it.}

Lose all the goofy text. Black on white. Focus on what you have to say not HOW yoU ShoUt iT.

Ok, I'll just go now. Cool

I did (exactly) WANT to "attract attention" on my new.space website and project, despite (unfortunately) I've had NO success (so far) in my effort to sell either T-shirts than ad spaces Frowner

Cafepress is down at the moment, so I can't see your t-shirts, but I view this as simply a way of spamming us ShopKeepers, and as stated above, the "Space" site looks horrible. I'm also suspicious anytime I see someone wanting payment via Western Union.

I have a question about this shirt. Whose idea was allegedly taken by Google? Yours? If so, then you are the one and only target audience for this product. That's going to be a little problem.

As for the rest, professional sites, premium shoips, content people will be interested in and products will want to purchase.

Best of luck.

it has the only purpose to host the advertising terms, the new site will be very much better

the payment method was PayPal, but a new european law limits the e-money payments to 2500 euro per year max
of course, I've sent the documents that PayPal needs to exceed this limit, but, so far, it's unclear if this limit still exists or not
