Hello API users,

On 10/15, a new and improved API will be officially open for business at http://developer.cafepress.com/page. At that point, developers can apply for a new key and start migrating their applications over to it. The current API hosted at http://api.cafepress.com will continue to work as-is, with existing app keys, until March 2009 (specific date TBD).

If you are NOT a developer, but using your own API key in a third-party tool, please allow custom tool developers time to determine how their applications will be affected.

Hello API users,

In September 2008 CafePress announced the launch of a new and improved API with additional features, better user documentation and support, and increased stability. The new API officially opened for business on Oct 15, 2008 at http://developer.cafepress.com/, and many of you are already taking advantage of the improved functionality and support it offers.

In response to your overwhelming feedback, CafePress also extended the life of the old API hosted at http://api.cafepress.com As promised, this API has continued to function as-is to allow a six month transition period for your applications. As announced in September 2008, this transition period will come to a close at the end of March 2009. Existing application keys for the legacy API will continue to function through March 31, 2009, at which point all API access must be migrated to the new platform at http://open-api.cafepress.com/

This communication is a reminder that all access to the CafePress API must be migrated to the new platform within the next two weeks. If you have not yet done so, we encourage all developers to apply for a new key and start migrating your applications to it as soon as possible. Please visit http://developer.cafepress.com/ for full details on how to get started.

If you are NOT a developer, but using your own API key in a third-party tool, please check with custom tool developers to ensure compliance and support.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please visit http://developer.cafepress.com/forum

Thanks!
