There are now two calculators:

Down and Dirty Volume Bonus Spreadsheet:
Enter your total completed and pending sales and it will calculate your volume bonus. Period.

If you just want a quick calculator for the volume bonus, I threw something together at

http://www.cafewish.com/quickbonuscalc.xls

You just put your pending and completed sales and bada-bing.

Now for the big mac daddy.

CafePress Monthly Sales Spreadsheet:

This is something I whipped up to calculate your completed sales, pending sales, affiliate sales (selling other's wares) and the bonus based on your non-affiliate sales.

I've got loads of virus scanners, etc., but assume the usual warnings about viruses, warranties (none), etc. :P

If you use it, just link every one of your pages to my sites and that will be sufficient. Just kidding. :P

Current update: Version 3.1, 2/27/2008

»DOWNLOAD CURRENT VERSION HERE«

LekkerJen has submitted a great revision of the tool that makes even more mac-daddier! It went from about 250k to 950k if that tells you what kind of work went into it.
-added a designer touch to make the reports much easier to read.
-separated out the current month from the previous month's "carryover" sales.
-added some averages to the reporting
Many, many thanks for contributing Jen!

Previous update: Version 3.0 , 12/14/2007
So it's been a full year, eh?
- has slots for copying CJ affiliate table
- added several charts for better visuals of sales per order, sales + affiliate sales, sales/affiliate sales percentages, etc.

Previous update: Version 2.0, 12/13/2006
Changes:
- Gave it a version number. I'm official looking. Subsequent versions will be saved as "cafepresscalc_2_4.xls" (meaning version 2.4) so people can use previous versions if they don't like the new one.
- move all input cells off of the reports page. There is now an "Other Inputs" tab for referral sales, cafecash use, returns and affiliate sales.
- to this tab I've added the ability to input how many of the products you sold that don't apply to the volume bonus like framed prints. It calcs the base price times the quantities and takes them out of the volume bonus. (thanks, RonS!) There may be a future more hidden calc for this, but this will help.
- Same for personal purchases on the above tab (thanks Debbie?).
- I think I fixed the "projected earnings" to account for increased volume bonuses from projected base sales instead of just taking it from the total income. (Thanks Burntees)

Still to do:
Allow for a posted referral sales report and calc off of it. (Thanks, Blip.)

Previous update: 12/11/2006
Changes:
-Made it purty. Input cells have a light green background. Calculated cells not to touch have a light pink background (there's no "light red" in Excel)
-Moved the affiliate sales input to its own bottom tab for clarity. Now you have three tabs to click on for input and the report tab has only output.
-Added a daily average that is based on total sales, affiliate commission and volume bonus divided by the current day of the month. Note this still doesn't figure for those last sales of last month that are showing up on the chart.
-Added an "estimated monthly total" based on how many days are left in the month and your daily average sales forecast to the end of the month.
-Saved the file with the "Information" tab active so it's easier to find.
-Added income breakdown (my product sales, affiliate sales, referral sales and volume bonus) as suggested by 52Tease.

Still to fix:
-Same "daily average" problem dealing with inputing previous months' data.
-Need some help doing the "best/worst day" based on the table that's hidden on the report tab. The problem is how to know that a "0" day is an actual day with no sales or just a day that hasn't happened yet and has a zero. I might have to do some long "=IF(...)" statements in there.
Bleh.
-Would like to do a breakdown on the source based on "orders" in addition to total "sales". That way we can see that x% of our orders came from affiliates and y% of sales came from affiliates. Then you can see sales per order based on the source.

Previous update: 9/4/2006
Changes:
Fixed sale source "bug" to work for IE and Firefox. Need testing on other browsers.

Previous version: 7/15/06
Changes:
Uses new reporting format
Calculates sales totals for Shop/Marketplace/Affiliate
Fixed daily average miscalculation
Added best day/worst day (max and min on daily sales)
Cleaned up daily chart

Still to fix:
Daily averages are based on finding today's date, so it only works currently when doing this month's sales. If you go back to previous full months, the average only calculates up to today's day of the month (i.e 20th day)

Edit 6/4/07 to move this to the Cafewish domain.

Oops. Try again. I hit "upload", but forgot to close Excel so it didn't upload. Fixed it, tested it. Please let me know how it works.

Oooh, thanks! I was able to import it, no problems at all.

But I have company coming for dinner and if I don't get to the grocery store soon, they're going to be dining on the shriveled up kiwi hiding in the back of the fridge.

I'll check it out this evening or tomorrow. Wink

Jim, THANK YOU!!!! Worked like a charm.

I'm using StarOffice for spreadsheets and Opera 7.x as a browser and didn't have a bit of trouble.

Oh, and one item that would be a nicety -- just a "total" somewhere of sales referred by affiliates.

What do you mean? Are you sure you're over the 2nd tier? Are you looking at your total from the cafepress report? Remember that affiliate sales aren't included in the total for bonus sales.

Just to clarify, how were you calculating that you were in the 2nd tier, from your own calculation, the CP report in your account, or from the spreadsheet? I want to make sure it's not something that is in my spreadsheet, or to correct it if it is. Thank you!

OK, I pm'd you, but I thought this would be good to post here as well.

The CP report is...well...not entirely helpful.

The "Total" for commissions is correct, but the total for the base price is wrong. It doesn't calculate multiple items, it just totals the column.

So, if you have 2 orders, 1 for 2 shirts at base price of 8.99 and markup of $1.00, and 1 order for 1 of the same shirt, the report will show something like this:

Qty Base Price Markup Commission
2 8.99 1.00 2.00
1 8.99 1.00 1.00

and the totals line will show:
3 17.98 2.00 3.00

But the base price total should show 26.97 (8.99 * 3).

It also adds in the affiliate sales. If that first order was for 1 shirt, and the second order was an affiliate sale, it would show:

Qty Base Price Markup Commission
1 8.99 1.00 1.00
1 8.99 1.00 1.00*

and the totals line will show:
3 17.98 2.00 2.00

The commission is correct, but the base sales are wrong for calculating the bonus, since affiliate sales don't count for the bonus.

Moral of the story is you can't look at the CP report total for your commission. Hence, the calculator.

Updated the spreadsheet to work with the new reports screen that added the "source" column.

I've also got added a "daily average" to the reports tab and I've got a chart showing daily totals. Right now, it goes off of the "Completed" date, because that's what bonuses are calculated on (right?). I'm going to add another chart when I get a chance to do it off of the "Ordered" date also.

The link in the top post goes to the new spreadsheet. Any feedback is welcome. Cost of use: Be nice to someone today. Smiler
