You don't hear of onsie in the UK, I would refer to that kind of garment as a fasten through baby vest, or just a vest. Though I gather that Americans call vests, the garment that the British call waistcoats, I am not sure what you call your underwear. To me a vest is a garment similar to a tee shirt that you wear underneath your shirt.

There is an all in one garment for babies that includes arms, legs and covered feet, that most people here would call a babygro, but babygro is also a trademark.

You may be shocked to learn we call that item a "wife beater" here in North America!

Thanks to Valdery for a few more SEO terms we can add to our page. I didn't know that a onsie was called a baby vest in Britian!

And, here's something you CAN put on your pages if you want the word onesie there for google and other search engines to find. Somewhere on you page put this, and Gerber can't say diddly about it:

"We don't sell onesies here, as onesie is a brand name owned by Gerber. However, we do sell infant bodysuits!"

That would also work for Babygro!

This is a great idea that I never would have thought of. Thanks.

I don't know that I'd call it a great idea.

Gerber could still decide that the usage is creating a marketing problem (basically, you're describing a way to gain exposure for yourself and circumvent the obvious rules). They themselves may not appreciate it and decide to fight back.

As tenuous as it might be (though a case could be made - especially considering you just publicly posted your intent here on the forums), the mere act of defending yourself against a lawsuit might be the point... they wouldn't have to necessarily win in court to spank you sideways financially prior to getting to that point.

Anybody who's been on these forums long enough has seen shopkeepers have their lives turned upside down just on grounds of reaching a settlement (which was the best case scenario).

Also - and this is important - we don't use CP's forums for discussing ways to get around TOS or the law in general. If you want to discuss such things you need to take it elsewhere.

Hold on.. not all of us call it that. Smiler "tank top" was always the term I heard growing up. It wasn't until my exposure to different parts of the U.S. and some television shows clued me in to that unbelievable term.
