I did 2 movie quotes from the dark knight and within hours, they were flagged and moved to pending. They were only the quotes, no pictures at all. Simply text. I used the tags from searches of similar quote items I saw on CP already, so that shouldn't heve been the problem
The only thing I can think of as to why they got cupped is because the description i gave said who the quote was, like this..
my tags: the dark knight, dark knight, bat man, bat-man, movie, the joker, joker, ledger, comic book, quote, bruce wayne, harvey dent, super hero, villain,
the section description: Your favorite Quotes from the movie The Dark Knight. Quotes from Batman, The Joker, Harvey Dent and many more.
Subsection teasers: The Joker Quote from the movie, Why so serious?
and
The Joker quote, spoken to Batman. You've changed things... forever. There's no going back. See, to them, you're just a freak... like me!
What am I doing wrong?? and how can i fix it if the images have already been tagged and moved to pending and all the items also set to pending without breaking any rules. Quotes from movies and tv are very common all over the place
The fast and dirty explanation: You're mooching off the protected property in hopes of gaining attention for yourself. Context is everything - not just a quote.
You're using all these names together as tags/marketing/promotion - I'd be surprised if you HADN'T been flagged.
If I altered all tags and names and just let the quotes stand alone, is that an acceptable use? I thought the tags were OK since I used existing ones from the marketplace that were appropriate to the quote. Then remove the description, teasers, etc.
if the quote can't stand on it's on, you are done.
If the quote can stand on it's on, and be re-tagged, and with new descriptions that do not include the Batman movie or its characters, then it could be reinstated.

Thats what I'm going to try. Now, if I change the name, description, section info, etc and remove all references, then alter all the tags, do I have to reupload the pics or can i reapply them as soon as the changes are made? Also, my image basket folder is darkknight, is that also a violation?
I really appreciate everyones help. I'm trying to learn fast, honest!
I do not know what your quotes are, so I can't say whether they can stand alone or not.
If one of them is the tag line for the movie, then you should let it go
But I have gone in and edited tags before and gotten an image reinstated
There are other times I have re-edited the tags and the design was still cupped
i had one cupped for the name of the file before.
You may want to email CUP, and chat with them.
I steer clear of most pop culture...I like my money, and I don't like dealing with lawyers

While I understand your frustration, Susan has made some very valid points of which you should take notice. If the designs are that important to you, by all means e-mail CUP and ask. At the end of the day I generally am grateful for them removing designs rather than being sued by a company that has a heck of a lot more money than I do.
I know there are always others who get away with it, but a) it doesn't mean they have permission and they too could be caught or b) they do have special permission in writing that you may not.
I just reread your original post, and if I am not reading this wrong your quotes you are adding to t-shirts seem to be listed at the bottom.
The "why so serious" may be able to stand alone, as long as you have no mention of the movie or it's characters.
But the other quote about the "Freak like me", I would drop it like a hot potato. That is a long quote pulled directly from a copyrighted movie, and you are begging for a lawsuit.
Just my two cents...

Thank you so much for all the wise advice. I've followed it. Killed the large quotes completely, and the ones that can stand completely on their own, i've redone. Nothing at all to mention any characters or movies, and am expanding that edit to things that have not been flagged to prevent future problems.
Along a similar line in this topic, I was confused at all of the Star Trek items being offered. Especially when they use items and logos such as the Star Trek emblem, the Federation emblem, copyrighted charater types like "Klingon," "Ferengi," etc. Also there are cartoon renditions of the characters and celebrities involved with portraying them and the image upload says you can't do that (or at least that was my take on it.)
How can all of these items meet the requirements? I'm so confused lol. I've scrubbed a lot of ideas for one of my favorite themes (Star Trek) simply because I thought the rules of uploading stuff here were pretty harsh to fall in line with.
Are there really that many people here with the rights to use some of the images, character names, race names and starship designs? And if so....where does one go to sign up and request that level of copyright usage?
Any help in understanding what exactly is going on would be greatly appreciated
