One of them said "if at first you dont succeed you're not Chuck Norris" Which I guess is because it says Chuck Norris even though I had no clue all Chuck Norris jokes were copyright protected?

The other one said "Automatic doors make me feel like a Jedi" So I guess the word Jedi is protected? That sounds a little extreme to me, but maybe I'm wrong?

You're wrong.

Chuck Norris has his rights to his own likeness and name. He's a private citizen.

Jedi is jealously protected by Lucas. No surprise there.

It's all covered in the terms of service and the note on the page where you upload images.

Look at it this way - CP is doing you a favor by just removing your stuff before some attorney decides to hammer away at you - which has happened. Wink

You wouldn't want to use something that would give the impression you are trying to cash in on the fame / good name / popularity of a living person or a trademark. But you could try things that don't infringe - such as a long since dead historic figure. How long dead is long enough? Dunno - guess you will need to look that up.

if the similar words make you or others
think of mr. norris or mr. lucas's ideas,
chances are it will make their lawyers
think the same.

it's not easy to create new ideas.
