What is your job outside of CP?

When I first started with CafePress I worked as a computer programmer, since then my online ventures have enabled me to do this CafePress thing full time. Fingers crossed it continues.



What are your hobbies and passions?

I have so many goals in life, reaching them is my passion. It definitely keeps me motivated in life, and at work, most of my goals are work related. I love being an entrepreneur. Combining the Internet, selling, programming, t-shirts and a bit of CafePress makes me a happy man.

Out of work I'm very much into my boys toys, cars, gadgets and consoles plus recently I have very much enjoyed landscaping my garden. I try to vary what I do so it's not all work work work. I have been known to take a couple of months off here and there and go on holiday.

What is your "expert" area/what areas do you find yourself most helpful in?


When I first started as a moderator my field was "custom shops". It's progressed since then, since we now have the power of the APIs, a custom shop is a little different than it was 7 years ago. I like to help people with the technical things at CafePress, by answering questions in the forums. I have been known to develop a few tools for those who want to benefit from the possibilities of the API but who can not themselves master the technical jargon. I too can use those coloured crayons when I have to.

Tell us about your shop?


I've been in the t-shirt personalisation market outside of CafePress for a while now, it's since the advent of the Content APIs that I'm really starting to maximise my use of CafePress.

I run a few sites for CafePress Shopkeepers, like SearchCP, Instant Cafe and CP Coupon.

What's going on in the background while you work on your shop? Music, TV, dead silence?


A lot of the time I demand silence. When I'm hitting tough spots in my coding, boom boom in the background doesn't help. But I'm not always coding believe it or not, a lot of the time I will listen to Virgin FM whilst I'm traversing the Internet highway. And sometimes I will pop on things like the IT Crowd and watch that while I'm geeking away. It's great!

While at your day job, are you guilty of being on the CafePress Community Forums?

Yep, the boss tells me off. She says tea was ready 5 minutes ago.


Do you prefer unicorns or Pegasuses?


Now, this is a tough question I ask myself every day. I still haven't come to a decision.

Do you have any hidden talents?

WYSIWYG I think sweetheart.
