Hi.. have found the Magic tool to erase backgrounds of photo images to leave only the subject, but it keeps the rectangular border around a white background instead. How do I get rid of everything except the main subject I want? i just want the dog image to appear by itself, with captions under it. cheers

Not having Elements I only *think* this will work because Elements often has the same steps as photoshop.

First convert your background to a layer. Double click on it in the layers panel. A dialog box should pop up. You can name the layer if you like, then click OK. Now remove the background the way you have before.

There are lots and lots of tutorials on the web that will really improve your abilities with the program. I have only a couple actually listed here http://www.tutortanith.com/resources2.htm#photoshop
