Great idea! I also think it might be more helpful to link to the specific tutorial that helped you with a CP-related issue instead of linking to the main page of the tutorial. Most have such a long list, that it's hard to see what is useful for our purposes. But, you can almost always click "up" and see the full list from the specific tutorial. Could be a good stickied thread soon.

How to create Circular Text (like for buttons and magnets)
Update: That link is dead. Here's another link to text on a path (circular or otherwise) http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/type_on_circle/index.html This message has been edited. Thank you for starting this thread. It will be so helpful to all of us...especially newbies. I'm getting ready to order CS3 and hope to begin to design a lot of great images. In the meantime, I am really enjoying the read and all of the helpful info. Thanks again.

i'll have to check my bookmarks at home, but i've found a few video tutorials, and i find those extremely helpful because you can actually see how to do what they're trying to explain.

Antique Gold TextJanee's toots are great. This was the second one I tried. The first was making a teardrop. Be sure to check out the entire tutorial page. There are many I am sure are very useful to CP designs. I love the one on folded paper!

Hi there,
I'm going to to blow my own trumpet here and give a link to my own photoshop tutorial blog. I add Photoshop tips and tutorials 3 - 4 times a week that you might find helpful. http://blog.digitaldesigncottage.com All the best, Jennifer This message has been edited. Last edited by: jennyrusks, |

I second the nods to MyJanee and good-tutorials
When I was first learning photoshop, I went through every single tutorial at myjanee.com - the whole collection is an excellent way to get familiar with all the tools. The good-tutorials site is awesome, one because of its size, and two because it's searchable. Also, try to get your hands on any of Scott Kelby's books ( www.scottkelby.com) . I've got the "Killer Tips", "Classic Photoshop Effects", and "Down and Dirty Tricks" (that one's my favorite, although I don't see it listed in his bookstore, they have them at amazon.com - in fact, there's even a dvd, too.) He's got a great writing style, and there's some great tutorials in there. That's all I can think of at the moment! Cheers, Joanne It's a jungle out there, kiddies, have a very fruitful day! I'm currently enjoying Photoshop CS2 Savvy by Stephen Romaniello and Matt Kloskowski.
The definitions are really clear--so much better than the first instructor I had, who really didn't have a way with words. I have noticed the Kelby books in Chapters, so I'll make a point of checking them out next time I'm there (although I'm trying to stay out of there for awhile after my recent splurge!). I'll "toot my own horn"
Adobe Illustrator Tip: How to make edgy cool type from a basic system font I did this one because I wanted to share more ways to alter your fonts & not spend a lot of money. The next few aren't Adobe/graphics specific, but might be helpful to shopkeepers: CafePress Premium Shop Basics: "I'm starting out with a blank template, how do I add color to my sidebar?" This is just a question I got from a friend of mine who was starting her own Cafepress store. She wanted to know how to add color to her side bar. "How can I get links to my site?" Tutorial: Using Google Directory to find quality links This question seems to come up a lot...so I thought I'd share one of my methods of finding good links to fish for. One more little tip for hunting for links... How can I get links to my site? A "Quick & Dirty" way to get links Hope that helps! Heidi This message has been edited. Last edited by: BusyArtist, |
