I am trying to export a banner graphic and I'm having some trouble.

Corel Draw won't allow me to export any larger than 16.6 inches, even though I built the graphic at the correct banner size of 42" x 28"

This goes for both PNG and JPG. How do I get around this?? Will Photo Paint do it?

Using Corel GS 11

Well, CorelDRAW has an export limit of 10,000 pixels. Since you did no say what you were doing -exactly- that is my only guess.

42" at 300dpi = 12,600 px. Not gonna allow that - move it down to 200 and get 8400px. orrr do 10,000 / 42 = and use 238px (230) to allow that print.

10,000px / 16.6 = 600dpi - not gonna allow that for any graphic format such as JPG or PNG. Don't know what you could possibly be doing that 600dpi would be appropriate.

Most 'graphics' will look fine at 200dpi as they are not meant to be viewed up close (at that 42" size). If there are 'very fine' details thennn push it to the 230 figure, but likely as not is unneccessary.

.

Good luck.
