I have outside web pages with links back to stuff in my own CP shop.

I also have a few generic CP banners on my websites. The generic ones link through CJ and go to the main CP page. These links are using the affiliat www.QKSZ.NET Link.

When my friend goes to any page with the CJ link on it she gets a WARNING saying this site is dangerous because it uses spyware. She is advised to close her browser and DO NOT REOPEN THIS WEB SITE.

Anyone else have this problem?

I'm not noticing a problem, but I think the problem is related to trend micro's pc-cillin. Some versions have been reported to return a false positive on qksz.net... probably because of the 3d party cookie. If you're not running pc-cillin, you'll likely not see it.

Have you considered trying another adserver? CJ has oodles of them. None of my links use qksz.net - as far as I know.

All I know is that I've redone my 300+ links and 50+ web pages for the LAST TIME.

I have 0 interest in going on ANOTHER snipe hunt to figue out what is wrong. I am not a programmer and I've already spent WAY too much time on this crap.

I am OVER CJ. The last thing I need is people getting virus warnings and being advised not to visit my pages again! I have seen a reduction in traffic at my sites and now I'm wondering if this is why.

I am changing all my links back to basic CP and using the pid and xid parameters on my links.

Are you hard-coding those links?

If there's any way to learn a little script code, this is the time. Who knows what tomorrow may bring with CJ, CP, or some other similar issue. CP has said they will continue to support the old link style, but what if some future infrastructure change that fixes all of the other problems doesn't allow for that type of link (just throwing something out there - I have no inside information and that example probably wouldn't be the case anyway.)

If nothing else, finding a way to just replace the specific affiliate domain would be a good idea for anyone in the event that a specific one starts getting blocked like this. I have a rotating list of them, and this is one I'll be removing from the list. Thanks for the head's up on it!

Hard coding? script??? I be just a humble shopkeeper.

When linking to my shop from my outside pages I was using the link structure I was given on the CP LBP site. Here it is with my numbers filled in:
http://www.qksrv.net/click-2429025-10463747?URL=http://...ress.com&xid=1336169

Here is what I will be using from now on:
http://www.cafepress.com?pid=1336169?xid=1336169

I'm tired and grumpy, sorry. I'm going back to shopkeeping.

How do we know all the CJ links don't trigger warnings?

Oops, I am tired.

I'm linking to the CP main page with those links, not my shop, sorry. The links to my shop have the same pid & xid info though.

Thats what I have in the WordPress plug-in I've been developing. Heading to remove that domain from my rotation list as well. I wish these spyware vendors would get a clue about affiliate marketing and quit blocking crap that isn't spyware... *sighs*

Oh, blessed ignorant masses... Wink

"Hard coding" is where you hand code the links yourself and put them in the html code. So if you have 100 links on your site and you need to change something, you have to go back in by hand and change all 100.

On the other hand, if you have created, borrowed, bought or use a script to generate the links, you might just put in a CP url and the script automatically converts it to the link you want. If something changes, you only have to change the one place that does the conversion automatically.

Take a 4th Click shop for example. If you have one, and something happens where the links now have to have some special code, Alan just needs to go in and fix it for you in his script. Yes, it may take a day or two to do, but it would be much faster and less person-hours than everyone with a 4th Click shop having to go in and do something on their own.

Here endeth the lesson. :P

Some people think scripting is really hard to learn, but some of it can be pretty easy to grasp.

BLESS YOU TANITH! You are my guardian angel. I was going to have to change my avatar to a pitchfork.

I can't believe it really has to be this hard! I have 10,000 or so products in premium and non shops, 50+ pages over 10 domains. I do all my programming in Netscape Communicator - all with my two little hands. I am blissfully ignorant of scripting and look forward to staying that way. That said I didn't sign up with CP to become a programmer. Never, ever I have I had more time sucked out of my lifetime than on this affiliate malarky.

Thanks for the linking help. Now I can go back to shopkeeping.
