I have noticed a bunch of double dips again. Is anyone else seeing this. I thought that it was basically fixed but I have had 3 in the last 2 days. I checked the code and everything seems fine.
Are you linking with the old cafepress linking system of "cafepress.com/shopid?pid=9999999"? I don't know that that has been fixed. Is it with the pid you put in your redirection page or is it with an xid?
I use the Commission Junction linking syntax and have yet to double dip on a single item.
Have you checked with Marty on that to see if there are some settings that need to be changed? I have three CPShops and get decent sales as well as affiliate sales from them and haven't seen any double dipping. And I would definitely notice them. Might be a stupid question, but you do have your CP account number in your admin affiliate section along with your CJ pid, right?
I hope I'm not coming across as flippant here. I don't know exactly what causes the double dipping but if I don't see any with my sales, which are decent on both sides, hopefully I can help track down what the issue is. I could just be lucky, but trust me, I'm not that lucky.
Hi Teesed, yes my shop ID is in my admin pages. And I am using the same version as you. It's probably something I'm doing wrong. I'll see what Marty says.
3100+ designs on 278,000 items. SK since June 2006 - Micheal is my hero Thanks Micheal
I have also had double dips appear in the past couple of days. In my case I think they are from the old URL redirect format, even so I haven't changed anything so it seems like something new is broken

Well, there's not much else we can do in CPShop, so maybe I'm just lucky on my CPShops for the past few days. Strange things...
I get many double dips each month. All my sites are made with 4thclick, not CPShop, and I've checked w/ them to see that all the links are correct. My understanding is that a shopper is picking up my own CP cookie just prior to actually buying an item, hence the double dip. I end up being my own affiliate. I've contacted CP, sent detailed reports of the errors, but very little response. I finally gave up. I just don't have time to keep tracking each and every incorrect sale.

That doesn't really explain it because the customer SHOULD be getting your cookie even if you refer them to your own shop - you still deserve credit if they leave your shop and buy elsewhere on CP so the cookie needs to be set. CP needs to cross reference the CJ cookie and shopowner to see if they are the same person.
I've only been hit a couple of times before and CP did an adjustment to fix it automatically so hopefully they keep on top of this if it persists.
I understand that, and I'm sure I'm not explaining it correctly , but it's happening to other SKers as well. Despite all I've tried to do on my end to make sure my links etc. are correct, I can't seem to solve the problem and I'm not getting an answer from CP other than this one several weeks ago about a magnet sale that had double dipped: "It appears that this sale came from the marketplace after the customer clicked through your affiliate link, and ended up buying one of your items. That's why it showed up as an affiliate sale. It's rare for this to happen, but it does from time to time." Unfortunately, it isn't rare for me.
