I just signed up for the new CJ affiliate program and I am updating my affiliate links.

I read the Best Linking Practices information and I also visited the CJ website and looked at the "get links" page.

I updated one test link on my offsite webpage that links to my Cafepress Shop.
I created a link following the "linking to your own store" instructions & used the Shop Name Identifier so that I follow the TOS for the program.

I like the option on the CJ page to have the link open in a new browser window and to be able to hide the tracking code in the link. But I also need to use my own graphic as the image. So I combined the code from the CJ instructions and the Cafepress instructions.


I think that this link is working. I logged into my CJ account and I can see link activity.
Could some of you experienced affiliate gurus take a peek and let me know if I am doing this correctly?

At quick glance it looks ok. The only question I have is with the PID. Make sure you are using a site PID from your CJ account (or PID within the create links on CJ).. Many people were using the wrong number in the beginning. As long as you are using a PID # from one of those two places you should be good to go.

My PID from CJ is 2664058 so it is included in the link.

But what is this number (in red) after the PID?

That is the CJ AID. It identifies the advertising CJ advertising campaign. In this case, that number is assigned to a CafePress campaign. From my understanding the AID does a couple of things. First it identifies the link as a CafePress one and second, it allows CafePress to run statistics on different campaigns. The AID in that link is one of many that CafePress has.

Using 10463747 is fine - it's the one CafePress recommend you use by default.

I have given my new affiliate links a few days to get some activity on them and have been running the CJ reports.
I thought other affiliate members might be interested in this...

I have both my affiliate links set up with an SID code so that I will be able to track how each link is performing.
I am noticing that the SID must be something reported via the Cafepress SALES report and not the CJ affiliate reports.

So i will only be able to track the perfomance of the cafepress SID if I make an affiliate sale.

The CJ reports show daily click through activity. They are organizing that by the CJ AID number. So if I use the same AID number (10463747) on all my links I won't be able to differentiate which ones are getting clicked.

I'm going to try using separate CJ AID numbers on all my links so that I can see which ones are getting clicks.

Just make sure that the ones you use allow you to change the destination URL. Not all AIDs allow you to do that. Not sure if CafePress allows changing on all their AIDs or not. Just something to consider when doing what you are attempting to do.
