I am really struggling with this affiliate program stuff. Can someone please take a quick look at my shop and let me know if I inserted the code for the sign up page properly?
The code looks ok, but it doesn't really fit in well on your page with products and may even push some potential affiliates away. Personally, what I would do is create an empty hidden section and put the recruiting code in it as a page on its own. Then I would create a link in your shop's footer area called affiliates or something like that. This way, shoppers can shop without being blasted with affiliate stuff they don't understand that distracts them from purchasing and affiliates will always look at the bottom of web pages of merchants they like to see if they offer a link to an affiliate program.
Also, I'm not sure if you meant to leave the angel cove in the second bullet. I'm assuming you are using the template from Shannon? I think that is one of her websites if my memory is correct.
thanks for your response. I am also not happy with it being on the home page, but I had no idea how/where else to put it. I am so confused - i can create a new section, but where do I put the code?

After you create the new section, if you click the Section Info tab where you edit the section information, you can place your recruiting page code in the description field.
OMG..this affiliate stuff is so confusing. I suppose I will get it figured out someday. Now I just have to figure out how to link to other people products so I can offer more puggy designs!

Looks good.. The one last change I would make is your alt tag in your link code. I would change it to appeal to shoppers. Remember even though this is a banner for affiliates, it is made to appeal to shoppers. Always make the banners and text associated with them shopper oriented.
As far as figuring out to link to other people, you can only do that on outside websites and not within your cafepress.com shop. If you have an outside website or a blog that allows affiliate posting, there are some cool and handy scripts and tools listed in the third party tools for affiliates forum.
Can I put my banners in my Cafe Press shop and ask people to download them and link to my shop? My banners are not fancy - i just quickly made up a couple when I realized I would need them for the affiliate program. I am going to make up some nice banner later on. I will fix the alt tags later today..

It's not an answer to your question but I was wondering if you knew that Japanese and Chinese are different? Some of your design descriptions are misleading.
Hi - yes, i do know they are different! I am sorry about my descriptions being misleading. I would appreciate knowing which ones are misleading and I will be happy to fix them. I really need all the advice I can get right now. Thanks so much for letting me know. You can email me at mindy@naturetees.com.

From a glance I am pretty sure that "Vintage Chinese Print" plus print 1,5,6 7,8,9,10,11 are all Japanese but I guess th others are possibly Japanese too. If you check the source of the pictures it surely tells you where they come from.
OH NO!!! oh dead hippo, the series of prints was identified as CHINESE..i really like asian art but know almost nothing about it. the embarassing thing is - these are selling really well! I am such a dummy. I stupidly associate calligraphy with chinese art. ok..well, let me figure out how to fix this mess. thanks so much for the help. I really do appreciate it.

No problem It's understandable. I'm not a big art buff myself but I have been living in Japan for six years and I have to come to recognize a lot of Japanese Art. It is possible that the artist was Chinese but I seriously doubt it. There are several factors that lead me to believe that they are Japanese apart from several them being very familiar. One is the fashion. The ladies are wearing kimono which are distinctly Japanese and the hairstyles also. In the "Two Asian Women" image you can see a very extravagant belt which is called an "obi" and is also distinctly Japanese. Another clue is the writing which contains hiragana which is not present in Chinese writing...at least not to that extent.
I'm not really familiar with Chinese art so I can't guarantee you that I am right but if I had the opportunity to bet on it I would and I am not a gambling man.
thanks for the excellent info. I will fix it asap - I need to upload some halloween images for trick or treat bags. I really am grateful to you - I feel like such an idiot.. bet japan is a cool place - i love sushi - I could eat japanese food every day.
