Sorry, couldn't find this explained - what is the SID? I was trying to set up a link and there was a blank to fill this in but I don't have a clue what it is or where to get it. Thanks for any help! Becky
The "SID" is your own tracking id. You can make it anything you want for the most part. An example would be an affiliate site with products in the main content area, a "featured product" rotation, and a side bar with "newest designs".
You'd use your same Affiliate id, since the links are on the same site. But you would put "&SID=main", "&SID=featured", or "&SID=new_designs" to help you see which of the links is converting better. When you make an affiliate sale, you'll see which of the SIDs it came from.
I know Teesed already answered the question, but I wanted to post so everyone realized it is there. I have a post up at the top of the forums which has useful links as well as some information that comes from some of the frequently asked questions. Included in that post is a list of acronyms used within the affiliate program and what they are for which Carl(Absolute Cotton) had posted a while back.
When you have a question, checking that post and its links may answer many questions. Click here to go directly to that sticky post.
