Okay, I am completely new to the affiliate process, and I have a "dumb" question. I am trying to sign up with CJ, but they ask for the name of your website or newsletter. For newsletters, you don't need to include an URL.
I have a website (off CP site), but I do not plan to use that website for affiliating CP products. I was going to try 4th click.
Do I need to enter the url to the website I am actually going to use for my CP products, or can I just enter my current website that I own and continue with the application from there?
Again, I am very new to the affiliate world so any helpful response would be appreciated. Thanks!
technically you do not need to put the website you are really using. the information is for tracking purposes... so when cj shows you your click through stats, etc. then you know which site/s you are getting clicks and visitors.
additionally, as far as i remember 4th click use will have a url.. whether its your own site or an account on theirs, i am unfamiliar, but either way there will utlimately be a web address associated with the product listing.
happy affiliating

Just to make sure I understand correctly, do you mean in order for me to track where my affiliate sales are coming from I should put down the URL I eventually will be using, or can I put down a website I currently own and then put down the real web address later and track it that way (or will I not be able to track the sales because of what I did?)?
You can really put down whatever for now. When you have your real site, you can add that. I have 10 different sites listed. That way, I know in my sales report that the sale came from Teesed.com or from FindMyTee.com, etc. I just added a blog the other day and added it as a new site with my CJ account.
