Hi Folks -

While I have no desire to mess with CJ myself, I figure I should at least promote that my items are open to affils, ya know? More money all around, that kind of idea?

I've been purusing some of my fave CP SK stores (so if you see a hit from Cox Communications, in Atlanta GA - don't ask me, I'm in San Diego!, that was me nosing around) - for promo ideas and it seems that they fall into mostly the following catagories:

(1) don't push the affil program on their store/site

(2) haven't updated from the old CP program (I see lots of 20% AND 15% out there in print, anyone know which one it is now?)

(3) simply link to CP affil page and let the user figure it out (under the old program it was so easy to have a step by step page laid out)

If you have suggestions/ideas, I'm open to education. If anyone has an affil promo page that they wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to see it!

Thanks in advance -

    The affiliate earns 15%

I've mostly disabled my affiliate promotion efforts. The CJ program is just so novice unfriendly that it isn't worth the effort.

I also can't promote my main shop as an affiliate site as I've been experimenting with taking it in and out of the marketplace.

haha.. i'm one of those outdated pages, thanks for the reminder. Big Grin

if you want to spend the time, i would recommend you do a combination page.
    -offer information about the program
-let potential affiliates know your products are available through the cp program... then link to that information.

also offer whatever banners or links to banners and more info you might have.

a brief run down of what you are offering is a good idea. and the more graphics and information you offer for those looking to "cut and paste" the better as well... including shop descriptions and text links - besides the standard graphics.

the outdated information i have is in one of my cp stores... ive since added information to two main areas on my own domain instead:

banners and news for affiliates in my blog (which then can be read via rss as well as picked up by google)
    http://www.jgoodedesigns.com/insights/category/affiliates/

and a needing to be cleaned up affiliate info section:

    http://www.jgoodedesigns.com/affiliates.php

but this offers info specific to my shops while offering links to my own tools as well as tools provided by others.

-- what i do is talk to current affiliates and find out what affiliates want or need and then hope that i not only offer that, but do so in a way the affiliates need. -- its a learning process for us all Big Grin

    Peggy,

Shannon(hazeleyes7) did a great guide for creating an affiliate promotion page. The link for it is in the sticky I made at the top of the affiliate help forum. If memory serves me correctly, she even has a page template available there.

    Shannon rocks,

I updated my affiliate page from her advice after months of not knowing what to do http://www.cafepress.com/valdary/1696396

It probably isn't the most slick page but at least it now shows the correct kind of links
